Leafs I’ve collected, and my first composition while I was brainstorming.
I tried to increase distance according to leaf sizes. I finished it with a big red leaf. It was the biggest, the darkest and it wasn’t in order like others. It was doing whatever it wanted to do.
As can be seen in sketches, it was a challenging problem for me.
All triangles have an order, and size according to their location. While biggest triangles are with biggest circle, little triangles are with little circle.
I noticed the contrast especially during the sunset.…
I tried to combine circle with squares in harmony. These numbers which are seen on paper shows the measures of geometric shapes, I carefully measured all of the shapes.
I think my pencils and flowers staying in the cup harmoniously.…
Other possible chair posters. The biggest trouble was background colour for me. Moreover, I relalized that the colour changed when I save it as pdf. I tried to see all posters which I imagined with different colors and text styles.
I like to match brown tones with black tones. I am still learning about text styles, so I am not brave to choose a different one than Arial.…
These are the things which I found transparent at home. I realized that we are using a lot of transparent stationery materials.
First step was thinking about colors while sketching. I decided to show transparency with a darker colour than the shape.
Second step was thinking about composition.
I brainstormed what are the possible variations of this shape. Therefore; I tried the 90,270,180 degrees. I’ve seen that there are four different choice to use, then I started to make a unit while using the area in a good way.
While creating my unit, I’ve noticed its size. I tried to leave parts of unit on the corners so that it can look infinite.
I wanted to make a unit with squares and triangles. When I put them near each other, I’ve noticed that they combine well. I’ve tried many variants, and I’ve decided to use four black squares and three dark gray triangles together. After that, I’ve thought about where I’ll put units on my paper.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t finish it because of time constraints.
Moreover, when I think about repetition, first thing that comes to my mind ancient structures. A few example of them:
After lots of sketches I’ve learned that direction should be towards one side. Thus, I’ve drawn some arrows to create a compositition with 3 mm stripes. And I decided to make something like in the middle of the paper.
I thought making curves with stripes would be difficult so I decided show it with corners. I just tried to transform ‘C’ into ‘⎾ ‘ . I didn’t realize that stripes would stop being stripes. While sketching, I like to study on A3 papers. It helps me to prepare before the real assignment. I am always trying to recycle papers left from try-outs.
The final assignment looks very similar to my final sketch. If I had more time, I would fill the blank areas with different colored stripes. I never noticed my assignment had 3d dimensions. Therefore, I have learned that it is diffucult to project what’s in your mind onto the paper. I also need to be better at time management.
I tried to put basic forms in a different way after first assignment wall critics. But I had trouble making it in time because deciding where I put the forms was more difficult than I thought.
